1. Mushroom Cultivation on Commercial Scale
Aim & Objectives
The overall objectives of the project are
- To increase mushroom production in the State.
- To ensure sustainable income generation through mushroom cultivation.
- To increase women farmers’ income.
- Suitable use of available land & resources.
- Creation of rural entrepreneurship.
- Livelihood support to SF/MF and landless people.
2. Vegetable Cultivation on Commercial Scale
Overall Objective of the promotion of Vegetable cultivation: Enhance community nutrition and livelihood security by means of building capacity of SHG members to sustainably manage farm-based resources.
Objective of the Activity
- Reduce the expenditure on vegetables purchased by the households.
- Ensure availability of fresh organic vegetables.
- Facilitate the availability of vegetables at doorstep.
- Enhance per capita consumption in the household and the neighbourhood.
- Ensure nutrition security for the Below Poverty Line (BPL) population with a small investment.
- Generate additional income to the beneficiaries with least expenditure.
- Balanced nutrition intake from their own garden.
Project Output
- Increase in income level and livelihood support to 9000 Women SHGs.
- Enhance nutrition security of rural population.
- Generation of additional employment.
- Creation of rural entrepreneurship.
- Recycling of Agro-waste and protection of environment.
Target Group
- 3000 SHGs for mushroom cultivation (2 members per SHG totaling 6000 members to be trained in 3 years)
- 6000 SHGs for Vegetable cultivation (2 members per SHG totaling 12000 members to be trained in 3 Years)
The project is being implemented since 2018-19 and will cover a period of 3 years i.e., 2018-19 to 20-21. Further period may be extended as per the mutual agreement between the Directorate of Horticulture and Mission Shakti and fund availability under MIDH towards Mushroom cultivation. |
